YOUR ROLE

As (Junior) Product Manager Alkaline (f/m/d), you will - step by step - take full product ownership of our alkaline electrolysis technology roadmap. This role will progress from Junior Product Manager to full Product Manager over the course of a handover period with our Director of Product Management. In detail, you will manage the following tasks along the entire product life cycle: 

  • Market Requirements - You work closely with our technical sales, market intelligence, and project management teams to collect relevant user/customer requirements
  • Offering - You define the scope of supply of the product, utilising market and competitor intelligence input
  • Technology limits - You engage with stack and system lead engineers to assess the physical boundaries of the technology and initiate product improvements and innovative new product lines
  • Product definition - You identify the right parameters (e.g., efficiency, output, costs, durability, flexibility, serviceability) to minimize levelized cost of hydrogen (LCOH) for our target markets/customers
  • Decision-making - You prioritize product features and own design trade-off decisions using market driven analysis to maintain development moment
  • Development Steering – You control the product target achievement (both cost and performance) through active engagement in the product development process and steering committee meetings
  • Product specification - You take full responsibility of product and service specification documents for our customers
  • Second level Sales Support - You assist our sales colleagues during technical discussions with customers, e.g., answering detailed questions about our products and their capabilities
  • Demo-projects - You initiate innovative, early-stage pilot projects and build trustful partnerships with energy transition frontrunners

This role is a huge opportunity for an entry level person. But it comes also with a lot of responsibility, so be prepared for a steep learning curve. 

If you meet the following requirements, we may be a good fit: 

  • (Advanced) academic degree in (e.g., industrial/chemical/process) engineering or other relevant disciplines
  • Confidence applying first principles from relevant disciplines to model impact of key design decisions
  • Strong technical background coupled with a customer-focused mindset
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with both technical and non-technical parties 
  • You have both an eye for detail and a “get-things-done” attitude
  • Self-starter mentality
  • Strong written and verbal communication as well as interpersonal skills 
  • Very good knowledge of English and German
  • Ideally 1-2 years of experience at an (energy) engineering company, consultancy, or start-up
